Tropical Wedding Bouquet with Strelitzia and Callas

An exotic wedding bouquet for a bride who has no intention of carrying white roses. Amber calla lilies, red gladioli, strelitzia, a green lotus pod and long strands of red amaranth spilling almost to the hem — architectural, saturated and impossible to mistake for anyone else's bouquet.

Every flower in it is one that thrives in this climate rather than merely surviving it. Gladioli, strelitzia and callas are built for tropical heat: they hold their shape through a full day of sun, photographs and dancing, while softer petals wilt by the reception. The trailing amaranth gives the bouquet its length and movement — it reads beautifully in photographs taken from the front, and it moves as you walk.

At its centre sits a lotus pod — the flower of Thailand, and the detail that quietly says where you were married. Long after the day, the pod dries and keeps its shape: many of our brides keep theirs on a shelf years later.

Against a white dress the effect is deliberately graphic. This bouquet is a statement, and it photographs strongest in daylight, on a beach, in greenery or against a plain wall.

This bouquet is assembled on your wedding day — never the evening before — and delivered anywhere in Pattaya, timed to your ceremony. Please order 5 to 7 days in advance: strelitzia, callas and lotus pods are ordered in specially, and we need to reserve them for your date.

Keeping it fresh

Trim about 1 cm off the stems at an angle and dissolve the Chrysal sachet in cool water. Keep the vase out of direct sun and away from air conditioning. The gladioli will keep opening bud by bud over the following days, so the bouquet slowly changes shape after the wedding — and the lotus pod can be dried and kept for good.
